Thank you from Special Olympics

Truck Convoy Friends,

It has been over a week now since the first-ever World’s Largest Truck Convoy presented by Getloaded in Richmond, and we are continuing to receive positive feedback from the community. As with any of our events, the goal is always to increase awareness and opportunity for our athletes. Thanks to your support, we have done both for our athletes.

In only its first year the Convoy raised $12,047 for the athletes of Special Olympics Virginia. Likewise, we have received several calls and emails from individuals and companies who want to support Special Olympics by participating in the future. We are already making plans for next year, and we will be convening a committee before the year’s end to help get the 2012 Truck Convoy off to a solid start. Thank you all again for helping us to build a special event that will only grow more successful in the future.

We have put together a short video that does a great job of capturing the excitement of the Convoy. Please enjoy, and thank you again for all the support that you have given to our athletes.

Sincerely thanks,

Haley GMC Kicks off the Season with the Gordon Athletic Association

Haley GMC sponsors Gordon Athletic Association and helps raise thousands of dollars with a vehicle giveaway

Richmond (9/8/2010) – Haley GMC of Richmond is partnering with Gordon Athletic Association to provide the league’s players and coaches with equipment, a monetary donation, and a chance to raise up to $10,000.

In support of Richmond’s youth, Haley GMC will provide Gordon Athletic Association with football kits filled with equipment bags, 5-gallon water coolers, dry erase coaches’ clipboards, and t-shirts.

Offering additional support to the community, Gordon Athletic Association will have the opportunity to raise as much as $10,000 through a fundraising opportunity where one lucky recipient in the Southeast Region of the country will win a new 2011 GMC Terrain (MSRP not to exceed $29,000). Haley GMC and other Richmond-area Buick-GMC dealerships in the Southeast Region are donating the vehicle to the participating leagues. One second prize winner will be selected from the Richmond-area to win a tailgate package (Approximate Retail Value: $500 each) includes a $350-$400 grill and a $100 gift card for the grocery store of the winner’s choice. One-hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to the participating leagues, and they can use the funds in any way they choose. Some of the leagues have reported they plan to grant scholarships to families who cannot afford to enroll their children in the league, while others have said they will use the funds to improve fields and equipment.

“Buick-GMC and youth football. It’s a great combination,” says Barry Moore of Haley GMC. “We are proud to be able to help the kids in our community by donating equipment and giving them the opportunity to raise much needed funds for their league. We are excited to be part of the effort this year, and anticipate a fun-filled season of Gordon Athletic Association football.”

Announcing Successful Thinkers Meetup: The Future of Community Business Is Here!

RICHMOND, Virginia, September, 2010 (Richmond Times Dispatch) -- Successful Thinkers Meetup announces its official launch to business owners and success-minded people with its inaugural event coming to the Richmond area on Wednesday September 8th. The event is expected to be a sell out and draw over 150 people including local speakers, Todd “Parney” Parnell, Vice President & COO of Richmond‘s own Flying Squirrels and Barry Moore General Manager Haley GMC.

It seems the current craze these days has to do with bailouts, corporate bonuses and the struggling economy. However, what's often left out of the discussion are the smaller, local businesses bearing the brunt and who daily face the struggle head-on. These are the true "heroes" of America's economy; not the large corporations. It is the locally-owned businesses that are driving our economy and who invariably hold the key to its recovery!

“We are here to help the small business person and the community as a whole with success principles and business concepts. Todd McCandless is very excited to be a part of this organization and to help people in this challenged economy, stated Successful Thinkers founder Jim Bellacera.

The concept of Successful Thinkers Meetup (STM) was brought into fruition under the leadership of entrepreneur, author and public speaker, Jim Bellacera. Jim's concept was simple; let STM be a resource for business owners, entrepreneurs, or anyone with a desire for success; hence, Successful Thinkers Meetup! The event is scheduled for 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the Crowne Plaza Richmond Downtown and will be free to the public. STM is built upon the premise of businesses helping each other succeed. In principle, STM harnesses the power of network marketing via the Internet and brings it to a personal level; otherwise known as High-Tech, High Touch. In practice, STM operates on the highest standards; utilizes the latest technologies and offers the most user-friendly tools available today such as:

-- Social Media.
-- Personal Branding.
-- Accountability and Mentorship Programs.
-- Local MeetUp Mixers.
-- Training, Inspiration and Instruction using videos, webinars, teleconferencing and text.
-- Motivational Seminars featuring renowned public speakers and much more...

Imagine if there were a venue where local business owners and success-minded individuals could meet, socialize, exchange business ideas and share contact information for business purposes in a professional, synergistic environment. Well, there is such a venue-it's Successful Thinkers Meetup!

Successful Thinkers Meetup is positioned to be, quite possibly, the next trend for helping reshape the business landscape and revitalizing the economy. Whether you're successful in life, aspiring toward success or just curious to meet people who are already a success and willing to share their stories, then Successful Thinkers Meetup is right for you! Check us out at: www.successfulthinkersmeetup.com to see what positions are available and what opportunities are awaiting the curious, the adventurous or those who desire success! You can also find us at Virginia Successful Thinkers on Facebook.

VA Flying Squirrels Giveaway

I was in the army from Oct 2000 to Nov 2006. I was a member of the first medical company to reach Bagdad during the initial push from Kuwait in 2003. My specific job was prepping soldiers with life threatening injuries for surgery. It was very nice what Haley GMC did for the vets handing out t-shirts and hats. Its nice to know that people care about the vets. I was very grateful that the VA invited vets to a baseball game at no expense to them. I loved the opportunity to talk with other vets that could relate with the issues I have from being in Iraq. I am very appreciative for the TV that I won. Thank you Haley GMC and Barry Moore.
