Are you, all of your students, and parents, Facebook fans of 8News Blitz? Don’t miss another week of updates. Sign up now!!!! Haley GMC is contacting area high schools in an effort to showcase the good things happening in the sports department at your school. By using different forms of media, we can provide up-to-the-minute highlights, talks and predictions, by local sports people and focus on the coaches and players that will create a fan-base through excitement and involvement in high school sports. MADD, Mothers against drunk driving, is also involved on this site. We look forward to events with MADD over the next 12 months and details will be posted at 8News Blitz on Facebook. Haley GMC and WRIC-TV 8 are partnering to provide a show, hosted by Chip Tarkenton, called the “8 Sports High School Blitz” during the sports seasons, that will feature a team of the week, each week. Chip and the sports team will review footage during the “8 Sports High School Blitz”, on Friday night, which will help them determine who the Team of the Week should be. Once the decision has been reached, an announcement will be made Monday on the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts and will also be posted on the 8News Blitz Facebook Fan page. Facebook fans can also access highlights of the game, Band of the Week, weather forecasts for Friday night games and much more. The player of the week and his coach will be awarded a free photo session, compliments of Jessica Bennett Photography. Haley GMC will also award the player’s family, a GMC Acadia to drive from Thursday through Monday, with a full tank of gas.* Free roadside assistance for 4months/5000 mile intervals will be provided to students and families of all local high schools. This is part of Haley’s free “Pit Stop” program. For security and peace of mind, all high school students driving should stop in and receive the Free Roadside Assistance package. We have set up weekend spotlight events that the families of the Team of The Weeks can attend while driving the GMC Acadia.
